So, it has been another busy month. I can’t quite keep up with this blog stuff. I swear, it isn’t like I don’t have time… I suppose I just am lazy. =) Okay, so let’s see. Lots has happened this month...
Sophia and I met her grandparents. You must know, Conrad’s family only found out about Sophia on Sept. 21st.
I am grateful that Sophia knows her other grandparents now. It was a nerve wracking occasion, because it is an odd situation, but turned out great. Well, with the exception of Sophia’s major crying fit, that sucked! Seriously, the kid has had two major blow-out crying fits in her life. Once in Reno at the buffet, that was totally granted though… I mean it was a buffet. Lol. The other was with her new found grandparents. I was totally embarrassed and of course didn’t have her little gas drops or anything. Grr.. lol! I now carry two sets of gas drops just in case. =)
I had a business trip to Covington, KY and had to leave Sophia for three days! It was heart breaking! Luckily, Dominga, Temo and Amelia were in town, so Sophia had great company while staying at Granny’s. Apparently, Sophia is a lot more aware of others than I thought. Amelia is 16 months old and into mischief. Sophia watched her constantly and cracked up at the stunts Amelia was pulling. Hopefully, she didn’t learn too many bad habits.
On the weekend of October 4th Sophia and I flew out to Nebraska to surprise her great-grandpa (on this new found side of the family) on his 80th birthday. The family was very welcoming and loved Sophia. I had a great time too. I had never been to Nebraska, yes I know, I have been to Easter Island and not Nebraska… but there is a first time for everything. Speaking of first times, I had a Runza…. Oh my gosh… they are so good. If you are like me and saying “Runza, what the?”… it is a delectable little treat of ground beef, onion and cabbage stuffed in a little white bun like thing. It is pretty much a German hamburger of sorts. I am not a meat eater really, but yum!!
Throughout the month Sophia has been taste testing many foods. I am trying to stay away from the sweet sweet food, so she has been eating green beans, squash, beef and turkey. It is really hard to feed her the “meat-like” substances. They smell like cat food. Seriously, Kuku would go wild over them. Bleck!
Sophia finally rolled over on October 18th! Yay baby! Well, she only goes from her belly to back, but it is progress. I am pretty sure she has gone from her back to belly once, but I didn’t see it. All I know is that I put her on her back and when I turned around she was on her belly. Hmm.. tricky kid.
This week my parents are in Equator, so Sophia and I are staying at the mountain retreat watching Sumi and Cheeto. It is a nice escape from the valley. The only sad thing is that there is snow on the ground up there. Yikes!! I am not ready for winter!!
***Although some of the pictures look like it, I am not with Conrad. =)
