Travel, travel, travel!!!!!

Sophia and I have traveled a lot this summer... and I mean a lot!!! On June 4th we headed to Disneyland to spend the weekend with Grandma, Grandpa, Dominga and her family. Sophia loved Disneyland! I was really tentative to take her because I thought she would be miserable, but happy I changed my mind. Our most memorable moment at the park was when we were at California Adventure. I took Sophia on the carousel... one of the workers came over to us and started measuring Sophia's head. Then she sized a crown to fit her. Next thing we knew was that the lady was on the loud speaker, she said "Everyone, we have a special visitor on board with us today, Princess Sophia. Please give her a big round of applause and welcome her to the ride". It was crazy! All of the riders were cheering for Sophia. Too bad she wasn't a bit older so that she could remember this. Oh, I stuck around for the next couple of rides to see if they stated there was a princess or prince on the ride. They didn't! I think they just thought my baby was cute! lol!!
On the 9th we headed for NYC! We had a fabulous time!! And truly, thanks to Sophia's good looks and charm ... oh and a crazy unmade room when we checked in to our hotel in Times Square... we were upgraded to a penthouse suite that normally goes for $3,000/nt!! It was fantastic! Sophia loved New York! We had a great pizza at one of our favorite places, Johns Pizza. We also got in some great shopping... both Sophia and I scored some fabulous clothes!
Our next part of our adventure took us on a seven hour flight to Dublin and then on to London. Sophia had her own little "bassinet", which was made out of cardboard and looked like a miniature coffin or a giant cat box, take your pick! I took pictures with her in it, but it seriously freaked me out so I deleted them. London was a blast!! I worked it so that Sophia took a decent nap at 11 am and went to bed at 9. She virtually had zero jet lag at all!! We spent our days in London just exploring. I have been there a number of times so didn't really have anything on the agenda. My mom and I walked the Thames and took Sophia to see Big Ben. Unfortunately, by the time we got there she had passed out!
On our third day, we traveled to Southampton by bus. Great ride!! (yes, I am being facetious!) Our bus made one stop at Heathrow Airport...about five minutes before we stopped I patted Sophia on the back... she threw up just a bit... and then a ton!! Both of us were covered in curdled milk.
We spent 12 days on the Norweigan Jade traveling from Southampton to the Norweigan Coast. Our ship took us across the Arctic Circle to the top of the world (well pretty close) to the North Kapp at 71 degrees North and as far South as . We had a fabulous time! My favorite port was definitely Gerainger. It was so beautiful!! The fjords as we sailed into this port were amazing! There were picturesque waterfalls everywhere... I mean everywhere!!! The pictures definitely do not do it justice!
Once we returned to England we boarded my favorite ship, the Queen Mary 2, for a six day transatlantic voyage. Let me tell you, this ship is amazing. Everything about it... from the food to the service (especially compared to NCL). Another great thing about the ship was the nanny service. Sophia would go with the nannies from 9 to 12 and then again from 6 to 8. She loved being around all of the other little one year olds. I spent my days working out .... and laying in the solarium. ahhh... Oh ya, Sophia took her first two steps on the ship and became a master of standing... which we called surfing. lol.
Okay, so this blog could go on and on with tiny details, but honestly if you want a full account of our vacation, I suggest you read my mom's blog, which is composed of emails she sent home to friends and family.... Eileentravelz@blogspot.com.
