Christmas!

Christmas this year was different from any other. It was quiet/low pressure, but busy as well. We spent Christmas morning at my parent's house. Santa was generous with Sophia, but did not overwhelm her. She was quite good at opening gifts and seemed quite cognoscente of the whole Santa/gift idea. I swear she is an old soul.
This year my brother Rick was in town without his family (they were in Mexico), because he had to work on Christmas afternoon. It was great to have him in town. This is one of the first years my sister hasn't come to town for the holidays. It was quiet and strange without her family there. Hopefully they will make it to town next year.
With such a small group of people at my parent's house we decided to have brunch with my mom's best friend Carol and her family. It was not traditional for us, but a lot of fun. We had great food and conversation!
Christmas dinner was spent at the Gonzales family party. We normally have the party a few days before Christmas, but it just didn't work out that way this year. We had a great time, but were all worn out by the time we left.
